Trans-World Events

The upcoming E-Waste World, battery recycling, Metal recycling, and ITAD & Circular electronics Conference & Expos scheduled for 11-12 June 2025, will deliver a technically robust agenda covering four specialised tracks, each providing actionable insights into the evolving landscape of responsible resource management.

The release of the preliminary agenda marks a significant milestone, highlighting a two-day programme filled with technical insights, policy discussions, and cutting-edge advancements. As the urgency for sustainable waste management grows, the 2025 agenda is designed to address key challenges and opportunities in the industry, covering regulatory updates, innovative recycling techniques, and global strategies for managing these waste sectors.

E-Waste & WEEE Recycling Conference

Pascal Leroy of WEEE Forum will discuss optimised collection and material recovery for EU circular goals. Tobias Kuhm will highlight the Aurubis Lünen Recycling Model, while Dr. Nikolaus P. K. Borowski explores copper refining from e-waste. Josephita Harry is set to address global regulatory harmonisation, followed by a panel on Basel Convention policies with the European Commission, Eurometaux, and Umicore. Afternoon sessions will cover digital product passports, photovoltaic panel recycling, and lithium-ion battery fire risks, concluding with a discussion on consumer participation in repair and disposal.

Day two will feature Rafael Basciano on WEEE Directive revisions, followed by compliance discussions. Federico Magalini will moderate a panel on Africa’s e-waste infrastructure with Electro Recycling Ghana and EWaste Africa. Technical talks include PCB screening, electrohydraulic fragmentation, and data destruction. Additional sessions will explore financial instruments for plastic recyclates and investment in recycling operations.

Battery Recycling Conference Track

Keynote speaker Eric Ruyters of EUCOBAT will assess extended producer responsibility (EPR) in battery collection. Hans Eric Melin will analyse Europe's secondary battery market. Andreas Opelt will further explore inefficiencies in collection logistics, while Robert Mitchell presents automation of R&D as a tool to accelerate recycling process development. Panels will cover regulatory barriers, EV battery end-of-life strategies, and lithium-ion recycling advancements.

Metal & Critical Raw Material Recycling Track

Shobhan Dhir of the IEA will deliver the Global Critical Minerals Outlook 2025 on resource security. Experts from Eurometaux, CETEM, and CRM Alliance will converse over the latest critical raw materials policies. Miguel Gorriz will showcase LCA methodologies for sustainable feedstock sourcing, while Christine Nikander will introduce a debate on primary vs. recycled metals. Additional talks intend to share around rare earth recovery, steel by-product valorisation, and high-purity aluminium sorting.

ITAD & Circular Electronics Conference

Corey Dehmey and Jeff Seibert will update on e-Stewards and R2V3 certifications, followed by Torbjorn Fredriksson on the UN Digital Economy Report. Panels will address ITAD strategies, data center decommissioning, and consumer electronics refurbishment. Discussions will also cover secure data erasure, rising IT aftermarket demand, and repairability mandates under extended product lifecycles.

With an unparalleled roster of industry-leading speakers, technical workshops, and expert panels, the 2025 E-Waste World, Battery Recycling, Metal Recycling, and ITAD & Circular Electronics Conference & Expos will provide a critical platform for fostering collaboration, policy innovation, and technological advancement in global waste management. Attendees will gain actionable knowledge, expand their professional networks, and play an active role in shaping the future of circular resource utilisation.
