Christoph Schell

Christoph Schell has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of KUKA AG. The technology manager and CCO of Intel will succeed Peter Mohnen on July 1, who is leaving the company at his own request after 13 years on the KUKA Executive Board.

In Christoph Schell, KUKA has gained an internationally highly experienced manager as CEO of KUKA Group, who has extensive knowledge of the high-tech sector and innovative future technologies. Christoph Schell (53), born in Kirchheim unter Teck, Germany, has held senior management positions worldwide for HP, Philips and Intel, where he was responsible for 3D printing and digital manufacturing, among other things.

Most recently, he was Chief Commercial Officer and Board Member for Sales, Marketing and Communications at Intel Corporation, based in California. He brings with him a wealth of expertise in areas such as computing, AI and software, which are also fundamental to the further development of the automation and robotics industry.

Schell has already been a member of the KUKA Supervisory Board and Chairman of the Board's Strategy and Technology Committee since the beginning of 2023. He is therefore already very familiar with the company and its global business.

KUKA Supervisory Board Chairman Andy Gu: "We are delighted to have found an accomplished and internationally experienced top manager in Christoph Schell as new KUKA CEO."

Christoph Schell, who has lived in the USA for over ten years, previously spent many years in Asia and knows the global markets that are so important for the ambitions of the KUKA team: "I am enthusiastic about the global spectrum and success of the KUKA Group and convinced of the growth prospects, which will change the world of work and daily life through the interplay of robotics, automation and AI. It is an honor for me to drive this development forward as KUKA's global CEO. I am looking forward to working with the KUKA team."
